In Utrecht, a new type of city is being created where fewer cars are on the road, and where there are cars, they are only electric cars housed in a separate building so they can provide V2G services to the community. Suburbs are being built, block by block with 'estates' being self-sufficient in heating and power via ground sourced heat pumps and rooftop solar. More power can be sourced from a dedicated building in each block where only EVs plugin and provide V2G services and car-sharing services to the residence. This innovative way of living gives residence access to vehicles whenever they need them but forgoes the need for everyone to have a private car that they only use part of the time. It's a win, win, win! for the residence of the environment and the electricity grid. Watch the Fully Charged Video for the whole story.
