AEVA to sit on Standards Australia Committee for EVs
West Australian AEVA member Kim Cramer was nominated by the association to represent the interests of EV end-users at the Standards Australia committee on Electric Vehicle Operation, EM-001.
The standard will broadly set out minimum expectations for safe and responsible works on electric vehicles. Several safety standards exist around automobiles, battery storage systems and electircal wiring, but this new standard will bring together all aspects of the EV-energy ecosystem and ensure any risks are minimised through prescriptive measures and proceedures.
Kim Cramer is an engineer with decades of experience in industrial and domestic power systems, having worked extensively in the resources sector and is an electircian himself. Kim owns two EVs; a Tesla Model S and a converted BMW. Both vehicles are charged at his off-grid property north-east of Perth.
