Renew's Sustainable House Day is on again this year, with a new online format to suit the times.
SHD is on Sunday September 20th, from 9:45am to 6pm AEST. It is a free event, and will take place in three virtual rooms via Zoom. Sign up using the link above to see presentations on designing, building, renovating or retrofitting sustainable homes. You are 'in the room', and can ask questions of the presenters.
After SHD proper, there are six 'Extensions Sessions' webinars over the following two weeks. These are 75 minute webinars offering a deep dive into a particular topic.
In previous years, AEVA members have taken vehicles to open homes, to help spread the word aboiut emissions-reduced transport. This year Renew asked if AEVA would like to participate in the online version of SHD. AEVA decided to help out in three different ways:
- AEVA will be in person in WA, with a single event at Subiaco Home Base.
- AEVA is co-host one of the extensions sessions webinars. Ours is called "Understanding electric vehicles, home batteries and the grid", and will be held on October 1st at 7pm AEST.
- Members of the Tasmania branch have developed three videos featuring members' efforts towards sustainability. The videos will be shown on SHD throughout the day, and used on social media to advertise the webinar. The videos will be available afterwards for AEVA to use.
